Our operations are growing, and we are now looking for a Support Assistant who wants to make a difference for our children and young people within the LSS (Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments) framework in Lomma Municipality!

About the Role

At our short-term care facility, called Skolskeppet (The School Ship), children and young people come to us for short-term supervision and stays. The operation currently consists of a dedicated team of support assistants and a coordinating support pedagogue, with a strong focus on the user and a lot of job satisfaction! The goal of the operation is to give children and young people a meaningful leisure time, an opportunity for a change of scenery/recreation/respite, and the chance to meet other children and young people. It is important that we can provide the children and young people with a creative, safe, and inviting environment that they want to visit either after school, in the evenings and on weekends, and during holidays.

Responsibilities

You work pedagogically and creatively based on established methods to tailor support to the individual user. You work to promote increased safety, independence, integrity, and participation/decision-making. Together, we put the individual's needs at the center. The work includes social documentation and collaboration with both internal and external parties.

The ideal candidate has a genuine interest and commitment to working with children and young people in the field of functional support. You are secure and responsible in your professional role, providing children/young people with a safe and predictable environment. You work actively and independently within the framework of your assignment with a clear individual focus. You have good collaboration skills and are receptive in your interactions with everyone you meet in your role. For you, change is something enjoyable and challenging, and you always see solutions to challenges.

Care duties are included in the job responsibilities.

Working hours are scheduled during the day, evening, and weekends.

Qualifications

You have a suitable upper secondary education for the work, or alternatively vocational training (KY/YH) within LSS/care operations. You have documented experience working with individuals in the target group. We work with individuals who need an individually designed environment. Therefore, it is of great importance that you have experience with low-affective handling and clarifying pedagogy. Experience working with children and young people is meritorious.

A valid driver's license (Category B) is required.

We require a certificate of good conduct (extract from the criminal record) for employment.
